Other Important Facts about Credit for Prior Learning CPL

1. Only existing UT Tyler courses may be selected as options for CPL.
2. Selected CPL courses must apply toward the student’s degree requirements.
3. If credit has already been awarded for a course, CPL credits cannot be awarded for that course.
4. Less than 25% of degree may be CPL credits.
5. CPL credit may be applied to Texas core curriculum courses.
6. If a student leaves UT Tyler, the UT Tyler awarded CPL credits may or may not apply, depending on the student’s degree requirements and the number of electives in the program of study at the transfer institution.
