COMD 3316 Speech and Hearing Science

This course examines the physiological mechanisms of speech and hearing and the physics of speech production and speech perception. Anatomy and physiology of the speech and hearing mechanism will be discussed in terms of frequency, pitch, intensity, loudness, decibels, formants, spectrograms, and waveforms. Applicable theories of speech production and perception will also be discussed.
