Student Accessibility and Resources

Student Accessibility and Resources (SAR) provides individualized services and accommodations to students with disabilities to promote an accessible learning experience while fostering self-advocacy skills. SAR collaborates across the university to provide consultation, training, and guidance on disability-related topics, remove barriers, and create an inclusive environment that supports the personal and academic success of students with disabilities.

Students requesting disability-related accommodations should complete the New Student Application at https://hood.accessiblelearning.com/UTTyler, preferably at least 30 days before the start of each semester. Once a completed application has been received and reviewed by the SAR Accommodations Review Committee, the student will be notified with instructions for scheduling the required intake appointment. For students enrolled in fully online programs or attending one of the satellite campuses, intake appointments may be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

Students applying for services should submit documentation supporting their disability. Information regarding acceptable documentation is available on the SAR website. Approved accommodations may include program modifications, testing accommodations, auxiliary aids, and other support services. Additional information is available at www.uttyler.edu/disabilityservices or by contacting Student Accessibility and Resources at saroffice@uttyler.edu.
