COMD 2311 Phonetic Description of Speech

This course examines the production and classification of speech sounds using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Students develop phonetic transcription skills for describing and analyzing speech of English speakers. It will discuss accents and dialects and will introduce students to the phonological processes and speech sound disorders.
