Economics B.S.
Objectives
A bachelor’s degree in economics provides students with a broad understanding of the economy and the ability to analyze data and develop workable solutions to the world’s economic problems. The program emphasizes logical and analytical thinking and data analysis to prepares students for a wide range of professional careers in industry, government, and education.
- Gain practical knowledge of how individuals make decisions, how markets work, and how to analyze economic data.
- Learn to analyze microeconomic models to explain consumer and business behavior and market outcomes.
- Learn to apply macroeconomic models to explain macroeconomic indicators, monetary policy, and economic growth
- Apply economic analysis to understand how changes in economic conditions, including government policy, affect individuals, markets, and the economy.
- Learn to organize, interpret, and describe economic data and to apply statistical analysis to inform decision making.

Minimum GPA
A minimum grade-point average of 2.0 in upper-division economics courses, and a minimum of 12 upper division hours of economics taken at this university.
Minimum Grade
A minimum grade of "C" in any economic course accepted for graduation.
